BONHATA Annual General Meeting 2025 at Delfins Beach Resort 

On November 5th, BONHATA hosted its Annual General Meeting at Delfins Beach Resort, reviewing the achievements, challenges, and activities of the past year and presenting the vision and priorities for 2025–2026.
Chris Opgenoort, President of BONHATA, shared his reflections and key lessons from his presidency over the past months. He emphasized the importance of collaboration in achieving meaningful results and highlighted the significant impact of tourism on Bonaire, as demonstrated in the Tourism Impact Study. He also noted that support from all stakeholders and timely execution of efforts are essential to the success of new initiatives.

Veroesjka presented the main focus areas for 2025–2026. While efforts to increase ROI for members and enhance community engagement and tourism impact were largely successful this year and will continue in 2026, other existing priorities will be further developed and strengthened, including:

  • Advocacy for a healthy tourism sector
  • Renewal of the Strategic Tourism Master Plan
  • Strengthening air connectivity
In addition, 2026 will see the launch of two major new projects requiring active member participation. Veroesjka also highlighted key messages the tourism sector should focus on communicating.
Charles concluded the meeting with an overview of the 2024 and 2025 budgets, along with the proposed 2026 budget.

This year’s AGM featured an inspiring keynote by Martijn Bos, owner of Boska Food Tools, who shared his entrepreneurial journey and explored how these insights can be aligned with the tourism industry and organizational practices. The evening concluded with a networking reception, giving members the opportunity to connect, exchange ideas, and strengthen collaboration.
