Welcome to Bonaire
I am so pleased to welcome you to my home, to my beautiful island of Bonaire. I was born and raised here,
and although I have had many opportunities to travel the competitive world windsurfing circuit and as
much as I like seeing the world and meeting so many of her people, I have always been happy that
Bonaire is my final destination. As a windsurfing member of BONHATA, I have worked in tourism for
over ten years now, and I would like to tell each of our visitors "Thank you for choosing Bonaire as your vacation island."
I believe that Bonaire offers a unique combination of pristine natural land and sea scapes, interesting local
flora and fauna, and truly, the friendliest people in the Caribbean.
Bonaire's population has worked long and hard to build an infrastructure that offers the most personal and professional
experiences in our specialty - water sports. Long known as a world class destination for SCUBA diving, Bonaire is also
noted globally for snorkeling and windsurfing. We are proud to offer entry level experiences that will get you hooked,
as well as great adventures for all with advanced skills. There are many other activities to choose from such as
mountain biking, mangrove kayaking, fishing, bird watching and natural history tours, as well as cultural and
historical tours. Indeed, Bonaire is a unique island, ideal for anyone seeking a tranquil, 100% all-natural vacation!
In addition there is great variety in choice of accommodations - from seaside hotels and condominiums to charming bungalows
and private villas. Delightful restaurants scattered throughout Bonaire offer all types of cuisine from local specialties
to fine international dining. Feel free to ask any Bonairean for directions and suggestions - we enjoy sharing our island
